Wonder Woman better be good…
…because this sure ain’t
DC really better get their stuff together. This isn’t a good movie. you can call that my opinion, but I think it’s a fact. Shoddy exposition, no character development, boring action, bad CGI. It’s all here! In one package! How convenient! This movie shouldn’t have been called ‘Suicide Squad’, it should have been called ‘Harley Quinn and Deadshot: the Movie’ because those are the only characters that are given even the slightest attempt at character motivation and development. And that may be due to Margot Robbie and Will Smith’s star power, but it’s just another tally in the problem column for this movie.
Oh my god. The villain. As if the hula-hooping Enchantress wasn’t already just flat out terrible, her brother, who I can’t remember the name of but also don’t care about enough to Google, has some of the worst CGI Animation I have ever seen. AND THIS MOVIE WAS MADE IN 2016! The story is bland, there are so many plot holes and I can’t help but feel the humour was forced in after the positive reception of the trailer that got released with Bohemian Rhapsody. I have so many problems with this movie, but I also don’t care enough about it to delve too deep.
This movie should have been so much better, but it’s just a mess. I really hope DC ups their game when it comes to live-action films because I feel like hope is kind of draining. I know a lot of people like this movie, and if you do, that’s fine. In fact, that’s awesome! I just couldn’t bring myself to like it.
Oh hey, wanna know something funny? You may be thinking “Hey, he put the Joker on the front page of this review, but hasn’t mentioned him once!”. That’s me doing a clever little bit. I did what the film makers did. Put him front and center of the marketing but he’s hardly in the final product. Jared Leto is fine, didn’t see enough of him to make a judgement.
